🎟️ Queuing Simulator

Queuing Simulator is an interactive simulation designed to recreate the experience of waiting in an online ticket queue. You’re placed into a randomly generated position and must wait as the queue progresses, while dynamic system events affect your speed, position, and estimated wait time.

⏳ How the Queue Works

When you join, you’re assigned a queue position between 4,000 and 10,000. Your position decreases at random intervals to simulate real ticket queue behaviour.

An estimated wait time is calculated based on your position and updates dynamically as conditions change. An elapsed timer also tracks how long you’ve been waiting in real time.

⚡ Queue Events

While waiting, different system events may occur that change how the queue behaves:

  • Technical Difficulties - Temporarily pause the queue while issues are resolved.
  • High Traffic - Slows queue progression and increases estimated wait times.
  • Disconnections - Reconnect quickly to minimise position loss.
  • Limited-Time Offers - Opportunities to move closer to the front.
  • Queue Skips - Rare chances to jump significantly ahead if you react in time.

🧩 Features

  • Randomised queue positions and timings
  • Live estimated wait time calculations
  • Real-time elapsed queue tracking
  • Multiple dynamic queue event types
  • Unpredictable, session-unique outcomes

🛠️ About the Project

Queuing Simulator is a small experimental project focused on replicating the uncertainty, tension, and flow of modern digital ticket queue systems through an interactive simulation experience.
